47th. ANNUAL DOWNRIVER RACE
Dear Skipper,
On behalf Grosse Ile Yacht Club, you, and your crew are cordially invited to set sail in this year’s 47th.Downriver race. The following is just a preview of the weekend. The dates are set so mark your calendar.
FRIDAY, July 29th:
Please join us for the Vice Commodore's Friday night party at Tri
Centennial Park. Starting at 6pm.there will be free beer and munchies
while they last. A buffet will be set up for a reasonable price. Last
but not least, there will be music - and a good time for all.

SATURDAY, July 30th: Race down the Detroit River to Grosse Ile Yacht Club for more free beer- while it lasts. Lunch and dinner will be available at the Yacht club. There will be afternoon entertainment. Awards will be announced at 8pm.

SUNDAY, July 31st: Breakfast will be available and served by our Past Commodores and Ladies before we start you off in the Deepwater Race to Put-in- Bay, Ohio, to participate in the ILYA Bay week Regatta.
This year's race promises to be bigger and better than ever! We encourage you to pass on the word to your fellow sailors the more boats we enter into the race the better the competition. So challenge someone you know to race down the river to GIYC, on July 30th. 2005, a good time will be had by all.
